Die Hofkarten – Bube, Dame, König und Joker – stehen für historische Gesellschaftsstände: Geistlichkeit, Bürgertum, Adel und Bauerntum.
The court cards—jack, queen, king, and joker – represent historical social classes: clergy, bourgeoisie, nobility, and peasantry.
Jede Karte zeigt eine mythologische oder historische Figur und wird von mir zeitgenössisch und zukunftsorientiert interpretiert. Mich interessiert, wie alte Rollenbilder bis heute fortwirken. Die traditionellen Darstellungen – Männer mit Waffen, Frauen mit Blumen – prägen unser Denken noch immer. Die Arbeit hinterfragt gesellschaftliche Schichten, Klischees und fragt, welche Bilder wir auch in Zukunft nicht loslassen werden.
Each card shows a mythological or historical figure and is interpreted by me in a contemporary and future-oriented way. I am interested in how old role models continue to have an impact today. The traditional representations – men with weapons, women with flowers – still shape our thinking. The work questions social classes and clichés and asks which images we will not be able to let go of in the future.
